Scrabble Coaster

Another great Pinterest idea.

Here are my supplies. Using a box cutter would probably give you a straighter edge. I wanted to put my own spin on it.

Almost forgot the paint I used to 'age' the tiles (wipe on/ wipe off).

I went with a thick cork board because I wanted a substantial piece.
I love it for it's imperfections.

The project cost me $7.50. I would try to find cheaper scrabble tiles next time.

-Glue gun and tiles from Anazon.ca
-Cork trivet and craft paint from Dollorama

Let me know if you have any questions.

This $10 solution is Awesome!!!!!

I didn't believe it could be true....... but it is!

I've always loved the look of white dish wear. After time they look horrible. They get these silver scratches all over..... I was at the point where I needed to replace mine.  It's embarrassing when you  host a diner party and your plates look like this.  Blech!

I read an article on Pinterest that said you could remove the scratches with some Bar Keepers Friend and a little elbow grease. I had nothing to lose......

Look at the results!

I'm a believer!!!

Ipsy Subscription. $15/ month

Thought id write about my Ipsy subscription.

It's a beauty product subscription that costs me $15US per month (because I am in Canada. Those in the US pay $10).

Every month I receive a shiny pink bubble wrap envelope that contains a makeup bag with beauty supplies in it.

Sorry about the fuzzy photo.... gotta clean the lense.

This is what I received this month.

Swatches

I did not open the NYX eye shadow as I will most likely pass it on.

The Chella liquid eyeliner came with no security seal. I am leary about trying it. I've had this trouble with Ipsy bags before. I am not comfortable putting anything on/ in/ around my eyes when there is no security seal involved.

I'm excited to try the Pixi primer. The sample is a decent size.

I am bummed about the bare minerals lipstick. For starters..... I'm not a lipstick fan. The sample came with a coupon for free stuff for those living in the USA. Boo!
Threw out the card so I can't remember exactly what was being given away.

I don't use the bags for make up. They do make great gift bags for small items. They are good pencil cases. Suppose they could be used to hold keys, cards, cash, and some Chapstick if you're not needing a purse.

This month is not great. Let's hope next month is better!

$6.24 DIY Project

During a recent visit my mum asked if she could have the horse pictured above.  Her reason:  Because I love horses.  I said no.

I happened upon these bookends at Value Village.  I immediately knew what to do with them.

First I painted them black.  It doesn't look black in the photo due to the sun (the sectional is black also).

I did a touch up on the black coat.

Then gently ran my brush, with silver paint, over the horses head and necks.

I screwed up at one point so I had to start over (just the section).

Here is the final result.  It could use a coat of matte varnish or polyurethane but my supplies are packed (moving out West).

Mum just arrived for a visit and she is very excited about her new bookends!

$29.98

L'oréal Revitalift Miracle Blur.

This stuff is magical..... It's photoshop in a primer. I have no idea how this works; just know that it does!

The before and after photos I took did it no justice, so I've left them out.

You'll just have to trust me on this!

This was purchased with my own money, and this review contains my opinions.
